Justin Forrest Silva (JFS) is a Northern California–based composer, conductor, and bassoonist dedicated to the performance, study, and creation of orchestral music. His artistic interests span the traditional symphonic repertoire, contemporary composition, and the role of music as a vehicle for storytelling, expression, and human connection.

As a bassoonist, JFS has performed with a variety of ensembles throughout Northern California, including orchestras, wind ensembles, chamber groups, and festival programs. His musical experiences have provided opportunities to collaborate with conductors, performers, and educators from diverse artistic backgrounds while developing a deep appreciation for the orchestral tradition.

Alongside his work as a performer, JFS has pursued conducting and score study, cultivating a particular interest in the interpretation of large-scale orchestral works. Through both performance and study, he seeks to better understand the relationship between composer, performer, and audience.
